RESIDENTIAL DESIGN

We believe that all good housing projects resolve the issues of program through design . We are profoundly interested in enhancing the sense of amenity in every residential project.  We have been interested in housing and the City since the inception of our firm in 1985. We have completed a 70 unit seniors non-profit housing project, a shelter for women in distress and were in the process of completing the documents for another 120 units of non-profit housing at the time of the cancellation of the non-profit housing programs by the previous provincial government. During the last phase of the provincial non-profit housing programs we also acted as the advocate architect for three different non-profit groups from design to completion of their respective projects.

We have also undertaken the design of housing prototypes ranging from single-family suburban houses to infill housing and large-scale rooming houses (SRO) for a variety of developers. We were awarded a prize for our submission to the City of Toronto's "Housing of Main Streets" competition of the early 1990's, have received a provisional grant from the CHMC in support of a recent SRO proposal and have received design awards for our houses. We are currently working on the redevelopment of a main streets corner lot in downtown Toronto as a small prototypical mixed use residential development employing sustainable design initiatives aimed at the rental market.
